Thursday 8th July 2004 ( Day 2 )

We were moved over to Ward 10 during the morning. Alex still needs an oxygen feed near him but has now been taken off all the continuous monitors that were needed in PICU. This made me a little nervous: my little boy still looked gravely sick and needs all the monitoring he can get. I steeled myself to go with the choice of the doctors and consultants.

Tom and Alex normally go to Abacus nursery a couple of days a week while Kirsten is at work. Abacus have very kindly agreed to take Tom fulltime, 5 days-a-week. Joan and David are taking the dogs home with them and Ian Walker is feeding Buffy the cat at our house.

Tom is sleeping at Joan and Davids. It's a big change for him, he's just as important as Alex but he will have to do without his Mum and Dad for a while so we can help Alex be well so they can fight again.
